To the conceal odour, flower essences were used and scented gloves became incredibly popular. As a result Grasse prospered. By the 1700’s more flowers than ever were being grown locally. Prestigious perfume houses would flock to the town, creating scents so magical Grasse would become known as the perfume capital of the world.
